
On March 9-10, 2010, the KIMEP hosted in Almaty the 3rd training on the course "Business Journalism", developed under the project of PF "Decenta" and PF "MediaNet" and implemented with the support of the European Union.
PF "MediaNet" and KIMEP became the organizers of the training. The participants included representatives of Kazakh University for International Relations and World Languages, German-Kazakh University, Kazakh State University, Kazakh National Pedagogical University and KIMEP. Trainer and developer of this course is Tulegen Askarov, President of PF "Center for Business Journalism "BizMedia".
The project also includes courses in other areas - analytical, investigation, human rights, environmental, photo- and Internet journalism. Presentation of the project took place in late February, during the visit to Pavlodar of the Head of Delegation of the European Union to Kazakhstan, Ambassador Norbert Jousten, accompanied by Ambassador of Spain Mr. Alberto Anton Cortes and Ambassador of Poland Mr. Pawel Cieplak. Main aim of the project is to help strengthen the editorial independence of media, to enable journalists, students and university professors take part in seminars held by the media professionals.
Also KIMEP hosted trainings on human rights journalism and journalistic investigation. The next training on business journalism will take place in Kostanay on March, 29-30.
