Rakhim KADYROV: "Hope that the insurance industry in Kazakhstan will move to a new level"
Last year, the insurance market has shown considerable growth in spite of pessimistic expectations, and forecasts of some participants and experts. We asked Rakhim KADYROV, Chairman of the Board of Directors of JSC Insurance Company «Amanat Insurance», to comment on reasons for this growth and development prospects for the near future of the both insurance sector and country's financial system.
Today people live in environment full of threats that may and do affect their health and safety. Apart from natural disasters, industrial accidents and catastrophes, social disruption and human addictions to alcohol, tobacco and other drugs, there is another threat that is not less dangerous for people's health and safety. Colourless and odourless, this threat is radiation.

When talking about radiation it's important to keep in mind that radiation is omnipresent and is a background to human existence since the dawn of civilization. Print editions today are dramatically going down in their circulations the same as in advertisement revenues. And business editions belong to the print mediums that suffer the most. The readers and advertisers today are more and more switching to the Internet. Financial crisis even made the situation worsen. In September the oldest Asian economic magazine The Far Eastern Economic Review, published in Hong Kong since 1946, went out of business. BusinessWeek magazine, a respectable edition which is distributed in 140 countries worldwide, was offered for sale in July because of dramatic decline in revenues and readership. And so on, and so on...
Dr. Rafis ABAZOV: “Kazakhstan badly needs highly-skilled professionals including foreigners”
According to the United Nations estimations for 2010, the percentage of international migrants in Kazakhstan will reach 19.5% of the population of the republic. It means that almost each fifth Kazakhstani resident will be a foreign migrant.
This indicator is even higher than in the U.S., the largest migrant receiving country in the world. Estimated 42.8 million migrants in America build 13.5% of the country population. At the same time in comparison with the U.S. and other developed countries Kazakhstan doesn't have clear migration policy. Dr. Rafis ABAZOV thinks that Kazakhstan should adopt Australian and Canadian practice and not to be scared from Chinese migration. Bakhytzhan Zhumalieva: «Learning others you learn yourself»
Within 10 days - from July, 21 till July, 31st, 2009 in Dushanbe city the training was conducted for Tajik journalists working both in state and independent mass-media. Our twenty colleagues at School of economic journalism studied foundations of economy coverage, both in printing and broadcasting mass-media. A new issue appeared in April on the media market of Kazakhstan: republican information-advertising newspaper «Millionaire» aimed at the mass audience - consumers of goods and different services: financial, telecommunication, educational, medical, rest and entertainments industries etc. As publishers of the new newspaper say, its key mission is to form readers' understanding of a financial world.
The editor-in-chief of «Millionaire» - famous journalist Irina Galkina, who's experience include «Leninskaya smena», «Caravan», «Expert Kazakhstan», and a guidance of the business journal «KIT», thinks that readers' reaction on the first number of her newspaper was very positive.
Marat Zairov: «Crisis can change a usual stereotype»
In the current year during the second wave of a global financial crisis the global changes began in the banking sector of Kazakhstan, which are capable to lead to the appreciable changes on the market of banking services. Alexander Novikov: «… Interest to the business information gets mass character»
Number of the Kazakh business mass-media has grown: since February, 2009 the new daily business newspaper "Focus" is being published. High interest to this event is caused by two reasons. First of all, for the first time in Kazakhstan the business edition will be published daily, secondly, "Focus" enters the market in hard times of world crisis.
